He sees you when you´re sleeping....‏

Hayley with her dear friend Tori who left the day after her to serve in Uruguay.  Since we didn't get a photo this week, I am posting one taken right before she left. These girls are officially halfway through their missions!

GOOD MORNING.

Hello family! This week was really good! :) Spring is arriving here in Placilla! It's a little weird and a little sad with my new zone leader, but he's a really good missionary so I'm okay with it.

Things in my sector are going great!!! The ward is a dream, they help us out a lot. J went to church and so did Y and A! We are finding the chosen ones :) We just need to work on reactivating as well!!

Sometimes I get really overwhelmed, because it's all on Placilla if Valpo Oeste is going to go from a district to a stake or not, And president basically trusts it all in Hermana Page and I, so that's horrifying. But I know that if we just can be obedient, courageous, and humble disciples of the Lord we are going to be able to help this ward make it happen and divide so that they can make another stake in zion! :)

I  love missionary work so much, and honestly I am so grateful that I am here. I am so grateful for the people I have met, the people who have changed me and the people I have had the blessing to be a part of their change. I just hope I can be an instrument in the Lord´s hands, because I know I am NOTHING without him!

Sorry this is short, but really not a lot exciting is happening. Everyone´s progressing but this week is going to be like the moment of truth if it all turns out or not!! Pray for us! :)
Love you all SO much!!!

mi gato es peor que hitler!!!‏ (my cat is worse than Hitler!)

Hayley with Martina, the birthday girl

 HELLO FAMILY!

This week was way good! I don't even know where to start haha.
We had interviews with Presidente Kahnlein and it was literally the craziest thing. Turns out, he's been waiting to put us together in Placilla for a while because they're going to SPLIT THE WARD!!! And he knows that we're the missionaries that need to be here for it. Basically, his minimum requirement is 10 baptisms in the next three months, three families, that all the converts from the last two years are 100 percent active and paying tithing, and that church attendance rises by 20 people by OUR WORK ALONE. So yeah, we have a big task ahead of us, but he trusts in us, the Lord trusts in us, so I trust in them and I know we can do it. Just a little insanity is happening in the ward!! And today in the morning one of our zone leaders got changed in emergency transfers (one of my very best friends in the mission, Elder Pinillos :(( SO sad about it) and one of the elders in my ward also headed out, so we'll see what happens and who comes!!

Investigator wise, we've found a lot of new investigators and had a bunch at church and others are progressing a lot!! C now is going to be out of town until November, which is a bummer, but he's going to church, reading, praying, and living all the commandments, So I know he's gonna get back, fast, and get baptized haha.

My companion and I get along SO WELL. We have the same taste in music and we both like to have fun and are overly happy people (but realistic happy, not the fake kind that some missionaries have.. GAH) President told my companion that she and I edify him and Hermana Kahnlein with how we are and that he's really excited to see us together haha. But yeah, I love Hermana Page, we sang all of the American songs in the English hymnbook today because we found her American flag and also pledged allegiance to the flag, so you know that we have a lot of fun haha.

Other than that, things are going way well!! We literally see MIRACLES every day. I am so excited to be here in Placilla in this time!! Grand things are going to happen (don't know if grand is the right word, sorry I'm forgetting English haha) and I get to be a part of it :) Oh and also, president told me I'm here until new years eve, so HERE WE GO, THREE MONTH SPRINT!! :) Love you all, the church is true, and always always trust in the spirit!!!

ALSO Lynn G Robbins came to our mission and talked to us, and he's awesome. And right before conference President Kahnlein talked about taking care about which way we looked and all of that, and then ELDER ROBBINS talked about it!! So this talk is like the theme of our mission haha watch it, read it, it's amazing and changed my life. Seamos soldados valientes en la batalla del señor.

'El cambio es parte de la gran plan de felicidad' -Allan F. Packer‏ (change is part of the great plan of happiness)

Hey!

Soooo.... cambios came and went, and Hermana Barros went with them :( The dynamic duo was separated. It was funny, in the cambio meeting everyone was like no, they're separating YOU GUYS?! haha It was funny, but anyways. It was way hard that day, we were both heartbroken.  But you know, I had prayed so that we would stay together days before and every time I felt so much peace. I thought it was because she was going to stay, but know I know it was to let me know that it's all going to be okay. I just am hoping I'll see her after the mission!!

BUT besides that, my new companion is awesome!! My first gringa companion, Hermana Page from North Carolina!! She's awesome, and we get along really well, so I'm way excited. And Hermana Barros was her trainer, so that just makes it even better that we have something in common! And fun fact, when I was brand new and on the bus on the way to Ovalle my first area, she gave me food because she knew that the newbies don't eat much before getting on the bus haha. Crazy, no??

But anyways, it was a really good week!! We saw so many random miracles and tender mercies. Like we went to a lesson that we couldn't find a member for, and a long lost friend of our investigator that just so happens to be a member showed up EXACTLY when we got there. So we were able to teach the lesson with the member's testimony! SO awesome. Then we also were on our way to leadership counsel and this guy asked us for the Book of Mormon, because he had heard about it and felt like it was the missing part that he's always looked for. WHAT. And then we were in a far away pueblo called Peñuelas in our area and the buses weren't passing anymore and we were gonna have to walk for like an hour. But, a member passed by exactly then and took us back to Placilla!! Seriously, the Lord has blessed us so much I can't even believe it. Cesar is progressing, we have found awesome new investigators, Carlos came to church... I don't even know, I'm excited for October and for this cambio! :) I love being a missionary!

I hope you all are doing well, don't forget that I love you SO much!! :)

CONFERENCIA GENERAL‏

Hayley's District acting silly

Heeeeeeeyy family!

I swear about an hour ago I had a million things to say but I forgot 100% of it, but hey that's the story of my life here on the mission hahaha. Sorry I haven't been writing a lot!!!
We saw a lot of miracles this week! My companion is going through a really hard time, so a lot of my energy is focused on helping her for now. The sun finally came out here in Placilla/Valparaiso, so I'm in a good mood :) But it hurts my soul to see my companion sad! I really know that I am here to help the people around me, and who is right next to me 24/7? My companion. After everything she's done for me, she deserves everything. But she's awesome, and is getting through it super fast and really well. Pray for her!!

But investigator wise, this week was really good! We found a little girl named A. Her parents are inactive, but want to reactivate, and A has been waiting for the day that her family reactivated so she can get baptized. WHAT. So basically she's getting baptized in three weeks, just pray that her parents will have the desires to go to church every week!!

C is on vacation, so we don't have a lot of contact with him because we have such a little amount of minutes on the phones every week, but he watched conference and is reading and praying, so I know that we're going to have an amazing surprise when they get home! :)

Our other investigators are doing well. E. S. has a baptismal date for the 19th and her husband told her:  "I feel like I need to be baptized by the proper authority, and I want to be sealed to you for the eternities, we need to be baptized in the LDS church."  I mean does it get more perfect than that?! Miracles happen every day, we just need the faith patience and diligence to see them!

Conference was amazing. I loved it so much! I wrote out 7 questions the day before, and watched as every single one of them was answered. Uchtdorf and Eyring gave AMAZING talks, and I cried when Holland talked about how beautiful the feet of President Monson were as he shuffled through airport security in slippers. I am so grateful for the apostles and prophets that we have today. They are amazing people, and I know that Jesus Christ lives and is at the head of this church. I am so grateful for the question that Joseph Smith asked and for the courage that he had to act on it and ask God. I know that revelation and miracles did not end in ancient times, and that we are more loved by our heavenly father than we can imagine.
I am so grateful for my family, thank you for everything you have done for me. Words cannot express the love that I feel for each and every one of you, mom, dad, Dillon, and Mali! Know that I pray and think of you all daily. I cannot wait for eternity with my four favorite people in the world, and my future family! (not trunky, just grateful baha)

Until next week! Keep up the good work and follow the counsels of the prophet and apostles!
love, hermana hansen
