20 YEARS

Happy 20th Birthday, Hayley!!

BUENAS DÍAS
20 years on earth today, CRAZY!! But Heavenly Father gave me the gift of an amazing week, so I am way happy!!! And a gorgeous day! After it rained and there was an earthquake for the last couple days, it is GORGEOUS and sunny today!! YAY CHILE.
Okay so this week I'm gonna be short again, sorry! I have a lot of people to respond to haha and sorry if my responses are way lame!! Basically this week was a lot of fun but also weird because cambios are coming and no one knows who will stay and who will go!! We think we're staying together and that our district is gonna stay the same, but President Kähnlein is known to do whatever random thing every change, so we'll see what happens!!

But the real miracles happened this weekend. First of all, we were in our apartment building waiting for someone to pick us up to take us to stake conference in Valpo when the earthquake hit, which was still just a tremble for here in Chile hahaha but it was a 6.6!! We started out just chill and continuing our stuff but then it got louder and we just stared at each other until it stopped! But nothing even fell and obviously we're alive so we're good.

Stake conference that night was AMAZING!! I felt the spirit so strong and everyone was crying. The stake president is amazing, and even better he's in my ward! They are WAY mission work focused in this stake - it's so awesome. But there was a video that i just loved (see below). It was an answer to prayers and the way I feel like I got my first testimony. SO GOOD.

Then on Sunday we had stake conference but the general session, and PRESIDENT KAHNLEIN and his wife came!! We had our investigator, C, there, who is the husband of a less active member that's been listening to the missionaries for 4 years. He is so awesome and we were already planning on setting a baptismal date with him last night after the conference and everything! But president asked us if we had anyone there and asked to meet C and invited him to be baptized!!! It was so crazy. Then the conference was just spectacular, so I was way happy. OH also last Tuesday we set a baptismal date with V, one of our investigators!! (she is the daughter of a less active.) She reads the Book of Mormon to her little sister every night and prays all the time and gets all teared up when she talks about how much she wants to be baptized! The problem is that her dad isn't a member and he wont let her... we find out today if she can really get baptized next Sunday!! Pray for her!!

Okay then after church our appointments fell through and we were bummed, but felt really impressed to talk to this guy in a huge trench coat. It made us scared at first but we both felt to contact him! So we did, and it turns out he was wearing that because he has a lot of health problems. We went to his house and met his daughter and taught him and he accepted everything and a baptismal date in 3 weeks!! AHHH. Seriously a miracle. His name is J and he is so awesome. We go back on Wednesday to help him with housework, because he gets tired really easily. Pray for us and him that he can make it in three weeks!! Then that night we saw C and PUT A BAPTISMAL DATE WITH HIM!!! AHHHHH!!! :) We've worked with him all of my time here, so that was amazing. And president called us this morning to ask us how it went because he knew we had the appointment with him. He's so great. But oh my goshhh seriously big miracle! Pray A LOT for him, because he's still a little unsure, he needs lots of support!!

BUT YES WEEK OF MIRACLES = HAPPY HNA HANSEN. So my heavenly father gave me the best birthday present. Also I'm  about to turn 7 months in the mission, CRAZY. But yeah that's the week!!
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, I love you ALLL.

This is the video that the stake president showed. Literally changed my life. i love it SO much. my favorite quote is: "spiritual light rarely comes to those who sit in the darkness waiting for someone to turn on the light." http://www.mormonchannel.org/video/mormon-messages?v=3701964025001

HELLO!!
Okay I feel like I have less and less time every week - hahaha. BUT let me fill you in for this week!
This week we found FAMILIES to teach!! :D:D They aren't going to get baptized this month but September is going to be full of miracles. AND we prayed SO hard and two of our investigators came to church yesterday!! So we are going to set baptismal dates for the 31st today, woo hooo! :)
Also, we have been using mormon.org a lot. So we use this stand with questions of the soul and give out cards for mormon.org. It's fun, but I got so burnt hahaha.
We continue having a BLAST as a companionship and see miracles every day, even though Placilla can be a little hard haha.
We also had zone meeting this week. We had to do part of the training, and the ASSISTANTS came as a surprise!! My first time too!! I was so nervous, but everyone says that we did well haha. Let's hope that they're not lying!
It was really a good week. I read Alma 26 and it really helped me out this week. I love the Book of Mormon SO much, honestly.
I hope you guys are all doing well, I love you so much!! I promise I'll write more next week (AKA MY BIRTHDAY yikes I'm almost not a teenager)

LOVE,

HERMANA HANSEN

*Hayley did not write a lot this week, but she was able to send A LOT of photos - yay!  She went on a hike today with a couple of less actives that they are reactivating along with a recent convert.

Yo no cuido la casa de mi vecino, porque estoy CHATA.‏

¡HOLA FAMILIA! :)

So I'm not going to write too much this week. It was really incredible though!! Hermana Barros and I really had a lot of fun, but literally everyone thinks we're insane hahaha. We work hard but ENJOY it, can't do it any other way haha - even if it means we embarrass ourselves every other second. But really it was a week of a lot of faith and learning.

I went to the new leader training and leadership counsel with president and his wife and the assistants/office, and it was awesome. I really have SO much to do, and I feel way too new, all of the other leaders have at least a year in the mission, but I know I'll be able to do it!!

One thing that I am learning is that Placilla is not Ovalle. It's a bit hard to find people to teach, because everyone goes to Valparaíso to work every day, so there aren't a lot of people in the street, and everyone lives in closed neighborhoods that we can´t get in to. But, the miracles still happen. We worked way hard all week, miraculously found new golden investigators, and had a ton of hope for Sunday, and.... no one came. We were heartbroken. it was one of those moments when your whole soul hurts. All this work and faith and prayer for what seems like nothing. but we had had a fast planned as a district to meet our goal of 6 baptisms in August. so we started with a lot of faith. and at first, the day got WORSE! Our appointments fell through and it was FREEZING and we were walking like crazy. But then we remembered a reference the elders gave us at church. They said to pass by Monday or Tuesday, but we felt really strongly to go see her. So we went, and it was INCREDIBLE. We felt the spirit so strongly, we all cried and she felt the spirit and told us we got there in the precise moment that she needed us the most. We have an appointment with her today and are going to put a baptismal date for the 31st :) Sometimes the Lord doesn't give you what you want when you want, and he has NEVER promised an easy pathway. But he has promised us miracles if we can have the faith, patience, and diligence necessary. Mosiah 23:10. I am so blessed to be here, and I love you all so much, I hope you have an incredible week!

Hermana Hansen

ps. we're in a trio with hermana peggy <3 she came to our district meeting for the first time this week!
pps. this campaign we're doing is because there´s a ton of signs here in chile on the houses that say ´yo cuido la casa de mi vecino´ which is "I take care of my neighbors house" and it cracks us up, so we made signs as a response. HAVE A GOOD WEEK.
