¡HOLA FAMILIA! :)
So I'm not going to write too much
this week. It was really incredible though!! Hermana Barros and I really
had a lot of fun, but literally everyone thinks we're insane hahaha. We
work hard but ENJOY it, can't do it any other way haha - even if it means
we embarrass ourselves every other second. But really it was a week of a
lot of faith and learning.
I went to the new leader training and leadership
counsel with president and his wife and the assistants/office, and it
was awesome. I really have SO much to do, and I feel way too new, all of
the other leaders have at least a year in the mission, but I know I'll
be able to do it!!
One thing that I am learning is that Placilla is not
Ovalle. It's a bit hard to find people to teach, because everyone goes
to Valparaíso to work every day, so there aren't a lot of people in the
street, and everyone lives in closed neighborhoods that we can´t get in
to. But, the miracles still happen. We worked way hard all week,
miraculously found new golden investigators, and had a ton of hope for Sunday, and.... no one came. We were heartbroken. it was one of those
moments when your whole soul hurts. All this work and faith and prayer
for what seems like nothing. but we had had a fast planned as a district
to meet our goal of 6 baptisms in August. so we started with a lot of
faith. and at first, the day got WORSE! Our appointments fell through
and it was FREEZING and we were walking like crazy. But then we
remembered a reference the elders gave us at church. They said to pass
by Monday or Tuesday, but we felt really strongly to go see her. So we
went, and it was INCREDIBLE. We felt the spirit so strongly, we all
cried and she felt the spirit and told us we got there in the precise
moment that she needed us the most. We have an appointment with her
today and are going to put a baptismal date for the 31st :) Sometimes
the Lord doesn't give you what you want when you want, and he has NEVER
promised an easy pathway. But he has promised us miracles if we can have
the faith, patience, and diligence necessary. Mosiah 23:10. I am so
blessed to be here, and I love you all so much, I hope you have an
incredible week!
Hermana Hansen
ps. we're in a trio with hermana peggy <3 she came to our district meeting for the first time this week!
pps.
this campaign we're doing is because there´s a ton of signs here in
chile on the houses that say ´yo cuido la casa de mi vecino´ which is "I
take care of my neighbors house" and it cracks us up, so we made signs as
a response. HAVE A GOOD WEEK.
